Underwater Pelletizing System - Flexibilty for almost all thermoplastic resins
Overview
Underwater Pelletizers
Advantages S-UWG
S-UWG-System: Start-up valve, Peleltizer, Process Cooling Water and Pellet Dryer
The method of underwater pelletizing enables both a wide range of plastics to be used and provides extremely flexible technology for the production of high-quality plastic granulate. It is suitable for practically all materials which behave in a thermoplastic way. Important criteria for high product quality are form, homogeneity and a smooth granulate surface. According to application and design, underwater pelletizers of Scheer are used for polymer manufacture, compounding and in the recycling fields for the following materials.
For pelletizing of materials
Polyolefine
Polybuthylene
Polyurethane
Acrylic Resins
Polycarbonate
Thermoplastic Rubber
Styrene Polymers
Polyester
Hot Melt Adhesives
Polyacetale
Polyamide
and compounds based on the polymers above.

Extrudate leaving the die plate is cut into pellets in the pelletizing chamber, which is completely filled with process water. Through the high temperature differential between their melting point and the temperature of the water, the pieces of cut polymer solidify instantly. The spherical or lentoid shape, typical for this pelletising technology, arises as a product of the polymer viscosity.
